  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, butter, granulated sugar, vanilla, and salt.
  3. Press half the mixture into the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, toss apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  5. Layer the apple mixture over the crust.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture and oats over the apples.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
