A delightful twist on comfort food, these Cheesy French Onion Meatballs combine the rich flavors of French onion soup with juicy meatballs and crispy turkey bacon.

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup turkey bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 cups French onion soup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, turkey bacon, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs and place them on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes or until cooked through.
  5. In a large skillet, pour in the French onion soup and bring to a simmer.
  6. Add the baked meatballs to the skillet and let them cook in the soup for an additional 10 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top of the meatballs and cover until the cheese melts.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can sauté some onions to add to the meat mixture.
  • Serve the meatballs with crusty bread to soak up the soup.
