Creamy Spicy Italian Rigatoni

A rich and flavorful pasta dish that combines the boldness of Italian spices with a creamy sauce.

  • 12 ounces rigatoni pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground Italian sausage
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the rigatoni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground sausage and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in the onion and garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
  4. Add the diced tomatoes, heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes, Italian seasoning, and salt. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until thickened.
  5. Toss in the cooked rigatoni and mix well to coat.
  6. Serve garnished with fresh basil.

Notes

  • For extra spice, adjust the amount of red pepper flakes to your preference.
  • Can substitute sausage with ground turkey for a lighter option.
