- 4 medium potatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Gruyère)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Slice the potatoes thinly, making sure not to cut all the way through.
- In a bowl, mix heavy cream, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the cream mixture over the sliced potatoes in a baking dish.
- Add shredded cheese on top.
- Dot with butter.
