  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons water (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, spices, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the molasses and eggs, mixing well.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let cool before glazing.
  8. To make the glaze, mix powdered sugar with water until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled muffins.
