Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add warm water and stir until combined. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes.
  3. Let the dough rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  5. Divide the dough into pieces and shape them into pretzels.
  6. Boil water and baking soda in a large pot.
  7. Boil each pretzel for about 30 seconds on each side.
  8. Place pretzels on a baking sheet, sprinkle with coarse salt.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
