Instant Pot Egg Biryani

An easy and flavorful Instant Pot Egg Biryani recipe that you’ll love.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 4 hard-boiled eggs
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons biryani masala
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Turn on the Instant Pot and select the sauté function. Add oil, and once hot, add sliced onions and cook until golden brown.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the turmeric, red chili powder, and biryani masala, cooking for a minute.
  4. Add the basmati rice and water, and season with salt. Stir well.
  5. Place the hard-boiled eggs on top of the rice mixture.
  6. Seal the Instant Pot lid and set to manual high pressure for 6 minutes.
  7. Once cooking is complete, let it naturally release for 10 minutes, then quick release any remaining pressure.
  8. Fluff the rice and serve hot.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, omit the eggs.
  • Garnish with fresh cilantro for extra flavor.
