Kani Sushi (Spicy Crab Roll)

A delicious and easy recipe for Kani Sushi, also known as Spicy Crab Roll, that you can make at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 1 pound imitation crab (kani)
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Sriracha
  • 1 avocado
  • 4 sheets of nori
  • 1 cucumber
  • soy sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Cook the sushi rice according to the package instructions.
  3. While the rice is cooking, mix the imitation crab with mayonnaise and Sriracha in a bowl.
  4. Once the rice is done, let it cool for a few minutes.
  5. Lay a sheet of nori on a bamboo mat, spread a thin layer of rice over the nori, leaving some space at the top.
  6. Place a line of the crab mixture, avocado slices, and cucumber strips in the center.
  7. Roll the sushi tightly, using the mat to help, and seal the edge with a bit of water.
  8. Slice the roll into bite-sized pieces and serve with soy sauce.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add more Sriracha to the crab mixture.
  • Be careful not to overfill the roll.
