Spicy Salmon Sushi Bake

A flavorful and easy twist on traditional sushi, this Spicy Salmon Sushi Bake is perfect for those who love comfort food with a kick.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 pound salmon fillet
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 4 sheets nori
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Combine the rice and water in a pot, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
  3. While the rice is cooking, prepare the salmon. In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sriracha, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Flake the salmon into the mixture and stir until well combined.
  4. Once the rice is cooked, spread it evenly in a greased baking dish. Layer the flaked salmon mixture on top of the rice.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until heated through.
  6. Remove from the oven and top with sliced avocado, green onions, and sesame seeds.
  7. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For added flavor, serve with extra sriracha on the side.
  • This dish can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving.
