Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk the milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
  3. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until a dough forms.
  4. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and roll out to about 1/2 inch thick.
  5. Cut the dough into squares.
  6. Heat oil in a deep frying pan to 375°F (190°C).
  7. Fry the squares until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  8. Remove and drain on paper towels.
